Reasons to Run YYC
I'm excited to be returning as a Calgary Marathon ForeRunner for 2016! On May 29th I'll be running my 27th Half Marathon.
That seems a long way away right? But, it's good to have something to look forward to. Here are my top 5 reasons to run YYC:
1. The people. This is a big race that feels small. The start line atmosphere is amazing, be part of the energy. After you get going the support and cheer stations out on the course are awesome. Look out for Elvis before the zoo bridge, he's my favourite.

3. The course. East Village energy, a giant chicken, a calming run by the clear blue Bow then an electric finish at Stampede.
4. The weather. Cold and snowy right now? Not to worry, Calgary is the sunniest city in Canada with an average of 333 sunny days a year. Chances are race day will be nice. Bring your shades.
5. The distance. You can run anything from 5k to 50k, there's something for everyone. Last year Kev ran the 50k and I ran the Half and 5k!
Registration is open for 2016!
*As a ForeRunner I was given a race entry for 2016, however all opinions, thoughts and feelings are entirely my own.
