Episode 5:1

Day of the Doctor Nov 23, 2013

The 50th anniversary is here!  We park our TARDIS (um, Pontiac) at the lot and pin bibs on before heading out into the snow.  Our official ones have not arrived yet so we have improvised, Kev is TARDIS Bitch today (note: this happens when your wife prints the stuff).  The weather is beautiful.  We go west.  We are running through snow while watching out for Daleks under cover in the trees (really).  As a result we are going quite slowly and appear disorganized to other more sensible runners.

5k in we find an errant snowman (evidently left behind by Dr Simeon) but he is harmless.  We pass him at 12k again and notice he has evolved, I attempt conversation but with little success.

Suddenly we travel through a wormhole into 1800's Alberta.  We check for Cybermen (as you do) then finding no trace continue on.

Homestead

The coast is clear!

We pass the TARDIS again and continue our journey to the east.  Something has startled two deer and they run by us.  This area is a wide open plain so we know there are no Daleks.  We watch the skies just in case.

We turn back and cover the home stretch, now running into sunshine.  We celebrate the end of the journey and set the controls for Gallifrey! (um, Cranston, and TARDIS Bitch has to drive).

How long did it take us?  Well:

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly... timey-wimey... stuff.

We have earned the magic token and averted the destruction of the universe.  For now.

I'm not running away from things, I am running to them.
