DietBet week 1 done
We are now one week into the RWRM DietBet. I was quite surprised by how motivated (ie. PANICKY) doing this online made me. I thought I had been trying to lose weight all year but apparently not. The cheating stopped right away and I didn't spend 3 days eating rubbish through the weekend (yep, I start on Friday) as has been the norm for a while. Result - 3lbs loss. I am at 130 for the first time in 2013. Kev has also lost 2lbs due to healthier cooking and no junk food in the house. I hadn't realized how focused on food our weekends were, eating out is a tough habit to break.
I only ran once last week as I had been giving my calf some rest time. It seemed to work as I had no trouble during the 9.5k. My knee/IT band did not cooperate, it was painful at about 0.5k and got worse until the end. I'm getting really frustrated with it as I have a lot of plans this year. I roll it every day and stretch as much as possible during the work day. My chiropractor is helping by realigning it regularly. Sigh. I am going to try some of this stuff in the coming week:
Marathon training starts in mid May - right after the DietBet ends (coincidentally). Seriously, 2 years ago this week I ran my first 5k and now I'm going to run 26.2 miles?
